It's important that these images are seen to be made by a human.
Not a machine guided by a set of rules and art theory.
The pictures are flawed and have the heavy hand of my own vulnerability hammered into them. They are as raw and honest as I can be.
They are an exercicese in what Harlan Howard called " three chords and the truth ". Of course he was referring to the simple and powerful honesty in the music of artists like Hank Williams.
It is music made by folk that most influences what I do with photography. It is there I hope not just in this set of images , but in all pictures I make.
The one hundred plus series has been split into five galleries.
